Ashlea received her Clinical Social Work degree with a Family Concentration from Boston University in 1995. Her work settings include Spaulding Rehab Hospital (MA), Kent Co Mental Health Center (RI), Boys & Girls Home of Maryland (MD), DC Children's Advocacy Center (DC), and Carteret Health Care Cancer Center (NC). In addition to continuing education, Ashlea completed 18 graduate credits in Psychology from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU. She has maintained her own business in North Carolina since 2001. Ashlea utilizes client-centered therapeutic methods to uncover the root causes of distress and transform negative patterns arising from trauma, loss, depression, anxiety, medical issues, and relationship conflict. Ashlea's clinical approaches and certifications include EMDR Levels 1 & 2, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottman communication strategies, self-care, mindfulness, and Transcendental Meditation (TM). Ashlea believes in understanding what brings individuals to seek therapy and helping them identify any barriers to obtaining personal goals and overcoming challenges.
