Nina Emadi LPC

Bio

I am a bi-lingual Licensed Counselor, fluent in English and Farsi/Persian. I believe being an immigrant, my cultural background, clinical and professional experience, rigorous training, along with my enthusiasm for Mental Health, have helped me become a better ally for my clients from variety of cultures and all walks of life. My clinical experience in behavioral hospitals, non-profit organizations, and private practice have also equipped me in gaining a better understanding of a very diverse range of populations, ages, and issues such as adjustment to life challenges, to severe mental illnesses. I have worked with individuals, families, unaccompanied refugee minors, victims of crime or domestic violence, adolescents, adults and seniors to help them become a better version of themselves, while living a happier and less struggling life.

If you feel anxious, isolated, depressed, or suffering from traumatic experiences, dealing with difficult life transitions, relationship/family issues, maybe experiencing immigration or acculturation distress, you are not alone. As your counselor, advocate and professional helper, I am here to walk you through maneuvering your life challenges. I believe each person can be the master of navigating their own life, with the right guidance and assistance. The biggest step would be gaining self-awareness, accepting yourself for who you are, and getting prepared for altering what you decide needs to be changed or is not serving you anymore.

I graduated from University of St. Thomas with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I hold an integrative and holistic approach to therapy in addressing different clients’ needs. I also apply some evidence-based avenues such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness in my practice.

Reconnecting to nature, taking mindful walks, good reads, music, films, traveling,  and cooking for family and loved ones while spending quality time with them, are some of the most enjoyable activities that I love to do whenever possible.
