I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as an evidence-based foundation to my approach, adding in liberally from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Self-Compassion, EMDR/Trauma Therapy, and Existential Therapy.
My clinical experience has occurred in a variety of settings and age groups: partial hospital, intensive outpatient, residential treatment, travel case management, insurance case management, and private practice. I have worked with people from age 8-98. In terms of severity of conditions, I have assisted with helping clients who had serious and persistent mental illness, including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression.
My experience has been broad and has allowed me to work with so many different types of clients. It has increased qualities I already had like flexibility, curiosity, and empathy; it has also given me practice in managing expectations, and teaching acceptance.
